I'm Lindsey Rae, a graphic designer, coffee addict, and animal enthusiast working and residing in the Philadelphia suburbs of Pennsylvania. My passion has always been generating new ideas and working hands-on whenever I can. Though I’m a lover of both pixels and print, I'm a paper perfectionist that geeks out over the little touches that can bring a design to life. After interning with companies like Disney and Crayola, I spent about 4 years working in the toy industry. This gave me the foundation to understanding all things packaging, working alongside licensors like Nickelodeon and Mattel, designing and building showroom set design, as well as casting and directing photoshoots.
From there I had a brief contract job in the wedding and event industry creating stationery and signage for weddings and even local country clubs. I soon realized I also have a passion for this area of design along with creating handmade type for all uses, especially addressing and gifting. This is something I still do in much of my spare time and take much pride even in how I present holiday gifts. Just ask my family, I mean serious business and have a closet dedicated to paper and twine.
Following this I gained full-time experience at Frankford Candy in Philadelphia where I worked with an array of licensors both in children’s entertainment as well as popular food brands like Mondelēz. This role was also very hands on with creating not just packaging, but the product itself. I was required to create specs for the candy molds to even generating small “surprise” toys for their Wonder Ball brand. I gained a solid understanding of many FDA requirements and other government guidelines regarding the food and beverage industry. This has led me into my current job as a Senior Graphic Designer at the Mentholatum Company which is a global producer of non-prescription health care products. I have fully switched up my projects here working on packaging in the drug industry, to assets for brand stores and social media. It’s been exciting to work in a completely new industry and even see my designs shortly after I started picked up by Walmart to test in 1600 of their best selling stores.
When I'm not fulfilling my daily design duties, you can find me actively experimenting in the kitchen, walking to podcasts, sipping coconut coffee, attempting barre exercises, lettering, dancing until the microwave beeps, or likely filling my phone with more photos of my dog. I welcome any opportunity to expand my cranium and experiences.
Instead of boring you to death with facts and bullet points, let's chat! If you're looking for a hardworking designer or someone with some extra enthusiasm, I can promise you both. Please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you!
